The Brewery is just north of downtown Los Angeles, 2100 N. Main St.

The Brewery Art Walk is a twice a year open studio weekend at the world’s largest art complex. With more than 100 participating resident artists, visitors will see new works, speak with the artists, and purchase artwork directly from the artists’ studios.

AVPA art students will be showcased at the studio loft space of Cyndi Ortolano, 692 Moulton Ave., Unit A, in the Brewery complex.

Artwork on display will include paintings, drawings and digital imagery. Each AVPA student will have the opportunity to exhibit his or her artwork, greet the public, and sell pieces. Fourth-year Academy art student Noel Baird spoke of her enthusiasm for this opportunity.

“It's a once in a lifetime experience for high school students to exhibit and sell their artwork from a studio in downtown Los Angeles,” she said. “This event gives young artists the confidence to display their best works among established artists, to communicate to the public about their art and to gain recognition.”

Senior Emma Juncosa echoes the excitement surrounding their exhibition. “This is a great opportunity to have real experience with what is involved to put on an art show,” she said. The Brewery Art Walk will give us the insight to see what it's like to be a working artist.”

Senior Amy Wong found it “empowering to be exhibiting alongside experienced artists who have been doing this for years.”

Started in 1982, The Brewery previously was the Pabst Blue Ribbon brewery, now transformed into a space where artists may both live and work. The variety of art shown at this 16-acre campus ranges from traditional paintings to cutting-edge performances and installations. Every spring and fall, The Brewery holds an open studio weekend for the community to view the art and interact with the artists who also live in the space. The event and parking are free.
