Hi there! My name is Jessica Val, and I don’t consider myself a fashionista.

I may accept certain trends because they fit my style and if I can incorporate them, but ultimately, I don’t follow fashion trends blindly. I like to create my own style. I hope to inspire some of you out there with my ideas to create your own as well.

It is important to stay true to our selves.

In the coming weeks, I will bring you certain aspects of style that I am passionate about. One can dress in style, eat in style, cook in style, travel in style and live in style. Style can be aesthetically pleasing to the eye, or spiritually soothing for the soul. I will be writing mostly on dressing and accessorizing. However, food, travel, beauty and lifestyle will make appearances here and there.

I don’t believe we need expensive items to look good. Yet there are certain pieces where you do get what you pay for, whether in style, quality or both. I like to mix it all up and find my own balance, not forgetting to have fun while doing it! I am not here to preach, but to show you what works for me. Hopefully, you will find what works for you too.

One thing I am looking forward to is showcasing small businesses with talented artists, who create wonderful things from metalwork raw stone jewelry to handmade lingerie to leather sandals and lots more. How do I take that one outfit which 897 other ladies have, and make it my own? The key is in the accessories. Besides presenting you with plenty of options, I will also interview the artists so everyone can get to know the minds behind the designs and the techniques they use.

From the time I was growing up, I  always have been a rebel (sometimes without a cause). As a grownup, I know who I am, how I want to look, what I want to eat, where I want to go, how I want to live… How about you?
