Unmistakably, these gentlemen spark visions of Hot Lips & Finger Tips

This is the place where the announcement usually is made about the genre of music that will be performed this evening in the third week of Boulevard Music’s free Summer Concert Series in the Courtyard of City Hall.

But at 7 o’clock when the beat goes down and the imaginary curtain rises, except for a witty introduction by producer Gary Mandell, we are not sure what will happen next, what kind of music will waft into your curious ears.

Hot Lips & Finger Tips have (has?) been together longer than 39-year-olds have been on earth, and still the kind of music they will bring is decidedly entertaining but unpredictable.

You will hear elements of Celtic music, country (western and swing, too), blues, Cajun, baroque, rock and roll, all woven into a single evening’s performance.

Hot Lips & Fingertips is a musical phenomenon that evolves as its six members continue to follow their individual creative paths.

The depth and diversity of their personal pursuits and skills shape their collective performances as a multi-faceted dynamic ensemble.

Individually, they are associated with dozens of television shows and movie sound tracks as well as symphony orchestras, swing bands, over a hundred albums (including some that are iconic platinum and gold records) and several Grammy winners.

Hot Lips & Finger Tips’ collective services have been sought by Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Garth Brooks, Jerry Garcia, Wynona Judd, Eddie Money, Maria Muldaur, John Lee Hooker and dozens more artists just as recognizable.

Do a quick Google search on band members Ed Berghoff, Jim Garafalo, Mark Indictor, Daniel Kahane, Joel Tepp, and Larry Zack,

You will find much more than can be listed here.

Hot Lips and Fingertips will reunite at City Hall this evening to expand on the legacy created through 40 years of collaboration. They play together as a band for the sheer joy of the music and the satisfaction of sharing it with their friends, both old and new.
