Back by popular demand after a sold-out run last year — standing room only —  The Latina Christmas Special at Theatre Asylum features three Latina comediennes telling three personal Christmas stories of holidays past.

Sandra Valls, Diana Yanez and Maria Russell return to deck the halls with guacamole in nine performances the next three Fridays and Saturdays at 8 and Sundays at 5, at 6322 Santa Monica Blvd.

For tickets, see www.theatreasylum-la.com/projects/2030?tab=tickets

The engagement is being produced as a part of the Theatre Asylum Holiday Festival, celebrating a diverse collection of comedic holiday tales.

Ms. Valls, a Mexican-American from Laredo, Ms. Yanez, a Cuban American from Miami, and Ms. Russell, daughter of a Mexican mother and Lithuanian father, share their sassy tales as first- generation Americans.

Each shares her own quirky experiences of growing up in Latino families within their American homes.

“You don’t have to be Latin to appreciate this show,” says Diana Yanez, former winner of the New York International Fringe Festival. “If you’ve ever had holidays with family, you can relate.”
