V.A. Lied … Hundreds Died

Fellow Veterans and Friends of Veterans,

The Los Angeles V.A. has failed our U.S. Military Veterans beyond every way imaginable. Most recently hundreds of Veterans died while waiting for medical consultation and healthcare.

As specifically detailed in the attached report by the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General regarding the Los Angeles VA, which concluded, “For the period October 1, 2014 through August 9, 2015, we identified 225 deceased patients who had 371 open or pending consults at the time of their death or had discontinued consults after their death.”

How much more disgraceful, dysfunctional, disrespectful, dishonest, destructive and death-sentencing can the V.A, get?

In 2013, nine real estate deals inside the V.A. were adjudicated in federal court to be “unauthorized by law and therefore void” as powerful non-Veteran entities illegally occupied federal property and facilities dedicated to the sole purpose of providing healthcare and housing for war-injured, impoverished Veterans.

These illegal occupants included, but were not limited to, UCLA’s 10-acre baseball diamond, private Brentwood School’s 23-acre state-of-the-art athletic complex, a 16-acre “rent free” public park for neighboring Brentwood homeowners, etc.

Instead of honoring the federal judgment, former V.A .Secretary Robert A. McDonald met secretly with two of his wealthy cronies – attorneys Ron Olson and Bobby Shriver who mutually agreed to vacate the judgment with the No. 1 objective and promise of ending Veteran homelessness in Los Angeles by the end of 2015. An “exit strategy” also was promised for the nine illegal occupants.

A year and a half later and Los Angeles is still our nation’s capital for homeless Veterans.

Meanwhile the illegal occupants are even more entrenched on Veterans’ property with sweetheart deals that are incredulously “legal,” no thanks to the corrupt manipulation of U.S. Rep. Ted Lieu and U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein with their deceptive and counterfeit bill.

During 2015, after the fraudulent settlement agreement was signed promising to end Veteran homelessness by year’s end — and it never happened — hundreds of Veterans also died while waiting for V.A. healthcare.

How many despondent Veterans took their own lives out of sheer distrust and frustration with a non-caring and dysfunctional V.A. “system”?

God Bless America and the Veterans Revolution!
