For the 51st year, the Culver City Exchange Club will sponsor the July 4th fireworks show, which by now is established on the campus of West Los Angeles College.

Gates will open at 4 o’clock a week from Tuesday, and the fireworks will begin at dusk.

West Los Angeles College is on the southeast corner of Overland Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard.

The suggested donation is $5 per person, with no charge for children 5 and under.

Parking, which is limited, is $10.

To encourage carpooling, the maximum admission donation for four or more guests in a single vehicle is $20 plus the parking fee.

That means a car with six passengers will pay only $30, not $40. Commercial vans, buses and mini-buses are excluded from the car pool deal.

Culver City Bus will run a special $1 shuttle from the Culver City Transit Center next to the Westfield Mall to the college.

Additionally, Culver City buses will run on their holiday schedule which can be found at www.CulverCity.org

Fireworks viewing will be on the college baseball and practice field.

Activities for the kids, gourmet food trucks and the raffle tent will be in the adjacent parking lot.

Last year, raffle prizes included a big screen TV, an aerial tour of Los Angeles, and a luxury condo stay in Las Vegas.

Guests may bring picnic baskets, blankets and low chairs. Tents are prohibited as are pets, alcoholic beverages and smoking. Handicapped-accessible seating and parking are available.

Cover band Rebel Rebel will entertain the audience with crowd favorites.

Proceeds from this Exchange Club event are donated to the community in the form of grants and scholarships to deserving students and local organizations such as the School District, the Youth Health Center, the Culver-Palms Family YMCA, and the booster clubs at all Culver City schools.
