My Five Favorite Television Shows

Maybe it already exists.  Maybe  not.  I am talking about a computer program that will match people according to their favorite TV shows.

Long ago I decided that you cannot take a reviewer’s word, or anyone’s, as to whether you will enjoy a movie.  You have to see it for yourself.  The same goes for television shows. I won’t ever try to convince you to watch my favorite shows.

But I would like to see someone collect the lists of people’s five favorite TV shows in rank order, and have a computer determine which individuals match up – exactly, or very close.

What will those matches tell about the people who matched up?

It will say there is a special connection between them.  Will the connection foster romance or new friendships?  Who knows?  Anyhow, it is time to give it a try.  To initiate my new program, here are my top five in order.

If anyone matches up, please email me.  Note, however, that I am happily married.

  1. Madam Secretary:  The lead actors are so real. Juxtaposing their political and mundane lives makes for quite a show.
  2. Law and Order SVU: Sgt. Benson and Officer Rollins are amazing
  3. Suits:  Love those characters, especially Louis
  4. Shark Tank:  Love the sharks and the new products
  5. 60 Minutes:  Most episodes are terrific

I recommend watching the pilot episodes for all new TV shows.  Often, I believe, you will have enough information to help you decide if that show is going on your “got to watch” list.

Why didn’t I suggest a list of 10 top TV shows?  Because I don’t watch more than these five shows.  I wonder what that says about me.
