Thank You, God, for All You Have Given Me

I thank God all the time for all the good things He has given me. I make a formal prayer to God, and my dad once a week.

This morning, I decided that I could at least write a once-a-year essay about what I am thankful for.

I am thankful for God

God gave me life via my parents.  It is a good life.  I thank God for the health, happiness and safety of all family and friends.  I ask God to help all people to realize that their grandchildren deserve to live peacefully on earth.

I am thankful for my Mom and Dad

My parents cared for me, and brought me up with good values.  Dad gave me practical skills.  Mom gave me love.  Dad is gone, but I try to spend much time with mom.  Today, I will join her for lunch at her residence. Last week was her 100th birthday.

I am thankful for my wife

My wife cares for me, and loves me.  My wife is a wonderful cook, and makes delicious meals.  My wife is practical, especially when I am not.

I am thankful for my children

My three children are productive members of society.  They are sensitive and caring.  They are special adults.  I am so very proud of each one.

I am thankful for my son-in-law

My son-in-law loves my daughter.  He and my daughter are raising two beautiful and caring girls.  My son-in-law is a very good man.  He is bright, and fixes my iPhone when it breaks.  He finds us great deals like Cricket, and YouTube TV.

I am thankful for my grandchildren

My grandson in New York, and my granddaughters in L.A. are wonderful.  Thank God!

I am thankful for my sisters

My wonderful sisters are caring.  It is such a good feeling being with them.

I am thankful for my friends

My friends care about me, and I care about them.  I am very fortunate in that.

I am thankful for the creature comforts I have. Here are a few of them.

  • My pool: I swim in my covered above-ground pool every morning in 85-degree water.
  • My computer and external hard drive: My 8-year-old iMac holds my life’s work.
  • My boxes of tools and supplies: I enjoy my zip ties, tapes, scissors, paper cutter.
  • My printer: My 6th Canon MX922 is wonderful. I fill my ink cartridges, and save $$$.
  • My iPhone 6: I carry it in my deep shirt pockets. It is my lifeline to family and the world.
  • My label maker: Labels on all my files and plastic shoeboxes, help me locate things.
  • My car: My 17-year-old Acura drives well because I change its oil every 3,000 miles.
  • My Alexa and its skills: I enjoy asking Alexa for the news, for jokes, and to turn on lights.
  • My Viva towels: The best Kleenex for my runny nose, I carry two with me every day.
  • My Kirkland sunglasses: Hey, just as good as $150 Maui Jim, and only $25.
  • My S+ sleep device: I may not sleep better yet, but I know exactly how I slept at night.
