One of a series.

In the midst of major life changes, Vice Mayor Mehaul O’Leary, who hopes to ascend to the mayor’s chair next month, agrees with two of his City Council partners:

A discussion of revising term limits should commence soon.

“It’s about time,” Mr. O’Leary said. “I really do think we should look at them.”

Jeff Cooper introduced the idea two months ago. Andy Weissman signed on last month, although he definitely did not commit to supporting a revision.

That is a majority of the City Council if a desire bobs up this spring to re-open the book.

Mr. O’Leary said the two-term limit should be closely examined because incumbents deserve an extension.

“Look at the major projects in Culver City that we have been part of,” he said, “starting with the train. It’s not finished yet. It won’t be finished during my term.

“Look at Parcel B,” the long talked-about property across from The Culver Hotel.

“There is the transit-oriented development at Washington and National.

“There is a bunch of projects we would like to see finished in Culver City.”

Mr. O’Leary strongly wants to stay.

“Just feels like the job is not done,” he said.
