[Editor’s Note: Linda Smith Frost, who served two terms on the Planning Commission, died last Saturday morning following a brief illness.]

I appreciate your publication of the two stories related to the death of my wife, Linda Smith Frost:

Linda Smith Frost Dies

Ms. Smith Frost ‘Needs to be Remembered’

I regret that I have been unable to release an obituary statement yet.

The exigencies brought about by her sudden passing have been almost overwhelming.

But I will forward an obituary to you as soon as available.

Linda had many friends in Culver City whom I have been unable to contact, some of whom I don’t even know.

I have been overwhelmed by the response I have received from those I do know.

Linda’s funeral will be private.

But in a few days I hope to be able to provide you with a link to a “remembrance” webpage for Linda where your interested readers may submit comments and contact information if they wish to be included in the memorial event for Linda on March 13.

Mr. Frost may be contacted at defrost@verizon.net

Oh how short life is! It seems like just a short time ago that Linda and I along with other friends were attending classes at Iroquois High School. I now reflect and remember some of the fun times that we had in Driver’s ed, working the Kentucky Derby, and fun times in classes. Linda was a nice, kind and smart individual. She will be missed. I pray that God will strengthen you during your loss.

We are so saddened by the passing of Linda. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was always positive and funny and a wonderful child of God. We would like to attend the Memorial Service. David, you are in our hearts and prayers and cannot imagine what you are going through. We love you both, and look forward to seeing her again in Heaven.

My deepest sympathies. We worshipped together at South End many years ago and went to high school together. She was a wonderful person. I am truly sorry for your loss. I pray for God’s comfort for you.

We only knew Linda a short while, in her role as the Landlord’s representative at the Villa Marina Marketplace. In that short while, we grew to become friends: her warmth, infectious good cheer, common sense and optimism were an inspiration to all who dealt with her. The World needs more people like Linda and will be a poorer place without her. Our deepest sympathies go out to all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, David.
