New polling shows Prop. 60, the Nov. 8 ballot initiative to protect adult film performers from workplace health risks, is a runaway favorite among all California voters and especially among voters familiar with the issue.

“This is good news,” said Rick Taylor, chief strategist for the Yes on Prop. 60 campaign.

“Californians get it. The more knowledgeable they are about Prop. 60, the more they like it.

“This poll is also very encouraging because we will be up with several very compelling TV ads in October. We also will be and launching other substantial voter outreach efforts in the run-up to the election to further educate voters about Prop. 60,” said Mr. Taylor.

The new poll, conducted online with 451 respondents on Sept. 20-21, shows 71 percent support for Prop. 60 among voters who had heard about the measure.

Fifty-six percent of voters self-identified as “familiar” with Prop.60. Among all voters, including those unfamiliar with the issue, 61 percent supported Prop. 60, 17 percent opposed and the remainder were undecided.

Respondents were shown a non-partisan, simple explanation of Prop. 60 before being asked their preferences.

Poll participants were 52 percent female, 48 percent male; 55 percent were Democrats, 30 percent Republicans; 97 percent voted in the last presidential election; and 48 percent came from households making less than $75,000 per year.

Today it was also announced that the California Nurses Assn., one of the nation’s largest professional health organizations with some 100,000 members, has endorsed Prop. 60.
