The Police Dept. reminds residents and visitors that the best way to celebrate the Fourth of July on Saturday is with family and friends is by attending a professional fireworks show.

The sale and possession of all fireworks is illegal in Culver City.

That includes the Safe and Sane type of manufactured fireworks.  All violators may be subject to fines and arrest if caught possessing or displaying fireworks.

It is important that the public recognize the potential dangers in the use and handing of fireworks. The risk of injuries, especially to children and young adults, is of concern to the Police Dept.

So let’s have a fun and safe Fourth of July holiday by obeying all laws related to fireworks in order to celebrate this special holiday by being responsible.

If you want to attend a fireworks show locally, consider going to West Los Angeles College for a professional fireworks display.  For more information, see http://culvercityfireworksshow.com/.
