Tentatively effective next Monday, it will cost for the first time to park

in the underground garage at City Hall.

City Council has authorized the installation of new pay-on-foot parking control equipment in the city’s Watseka, Cardiff and Ince parking structures and City Hall in order to better manage the City’s parking resources.

All drivers who park in excess of one hour will be required to pay their parking ticket at kiosks on P1 in City Hall and the first floor of the Watseka, Cardiff and Ince parking structures.

Installation of equipment in City Hall is underway.

Parking rates at City Hall will mirror the Downtown parking rates.

The first hour will be free, and it will cost $1 for every 30 minutes thereafter, up to a $12 daily maximum.

Validations will be available for persons conducting business and attending public meetings at City Hall.

Validations will also be available – – and provided directly by the Summer Music Festival Producer — for guests of the concert series on Aug. 3 and Aug. 10.
