I Am So, So Worried

Can you envision two liberal soldiers in a foxhole, ducking unbroken streams of gunfire, consoling each other over the inevitability of climate change destroying the world before they can shoot back at the latest Muslim zoo thrust?

That setting blossomed this morning while trying to simultaneously digest oxygen and the Los Angeles Times’s editorial attempt to emulate Dilbert or Barney Fife with their “Silence on climate change” editorial.

I presume it was crafted by a regular on the Comedy Channel.

The boys at the Times were wringing their fashionably manicured hands. (Which bathroom are you using, Swish?)

They are thrashing about in an emotion-wracked dither over the perception that normal people – non-liberals — are more worried about the latest incarnation of bug-eyed Muslim apes than about the cartoonish, discredited concept of global climate warming change.

The desperate Times had to resort to quoting a human mouse, midgetary Ban Ki-sun, secretary-general of the buffoonish United Nations, as an authority on climate change. (Can you enunciate those words without smiling?)

Strike up the Ban says climate change is “one of the most crucial problems on earth.”

Ban, baby.

Why didn’t you say so before? Here

I thought it was the peculiar new shape of rotting Kansas tomatoes.

But here was the boys’ sweetheart line:

“Yes, Islamic State is a destabilizing force, income inequality may have knocked the nation’s middle class on its heels, and there’s way too much money skewing our political system. But climate change, with its mass variations in weather patterns, disappearing coastlines, longer and drier droughts and ensuing conflicts over access to water and habitable terrain, is a looming problem that threatens to upend world politics.”

At that point, the boys from the Times spit out their pacifiers, pooped their diapers and laid down for their afternoon nap.
