May I Introduce a Fast Highway Out of Pain?

Hypnosis is an incredibly effective tool for eliminating chronic pain. Studies of two groups have shown that the people who remained on pain medication had doubled or tripled their medication within two years. And they still were experiencing pain.

The second group gave up the pain medications and used self-hypnosis 20 minutes each day. Their pain levels dropped 90 percent, and everyone remained free of pain medication.

Hypnosis helps the brain to focus, to easily produce its own endorphins that kill pain. You will not suffer significant pain when you are as relaxed as hypnosis can make you. Relaxation is the key. A positive mental attitude is helped by hypnosis.

Telling yourself to relax is predictably ineffective when you've just closed your finger in the car door, or after your lovable little tyke has just butted you in the groin while horsing around.

Deep relaxation, is a useful technique for gaining control of chronic pain. Hypnosis works in management of varied types of pain — back pain, pain associated with childbirth, angioplasty, phantom limb pain, leukemia, even headaches.

Hypnosis is not appropriate for all sufferers of pain. No treatment, chemical, physical, or psychological, has been foolproof 100 percent of the time. If a treatment can help a sizable number of patients, it is considered effective. Because hypnosis manages pain well, it is considered a reliable tool.

Hypnosis is a safe way patients can deal with their pain.

Pain is your body's warning system. You never should use hypnosis to control pain or take pain-controlling medication without knowing why you are in pain. It is important to consult your doctor for the cause first.

Finding a Cure

One day I was out walking my dog when I came across two men going door to door, promoting services to aid drug addicted teenagers. One man weighed more than 300 pounds. Plagued by knee pain from his weight, walking for the past six hours exacerbated his problem.

He confirmed that he had a doctor’s appointment to learn the cause of his pain. After finding out my profession, he asked if I could help him. I hypnotized him on the spot, and I gave him two pain control techniques. When he came out of his hypnotic state, his pain had vanished.
When the pain had not returned 24 hours later, he was grateful.  This made him determined to find non-drug methods to ease his pain.

At the bottom for him and for other pain sufferers was a positive attitude, a conviction he would feel better, and a willingness to try.

Hypnosis for pain relief is available to anyone who wants to try.
