Where Trees Go to Die

Culver City’s Park Your Tree Program is back.

This program offers residents an opportunity to drop off their old Christmas trees at the following parks for tree composting:

  • Fox Hills Park (Green Valley Circle and Buckingham Parkway),
  • Vets Park (4117 Overland Ave),
  • Syd Kronenthal Park (3459 McManus Ave.), and
  • Culver West Alexander Park (4162 Wade St.).

Environmental Programs and Operations staff will place large bins at each park site.

Starting Dec. 26, they will regularly collect all trees placed in the containers until the end of January.

Trees should have all-plastic containers, metal stands and bars, ornaments, lighting and the bulk of tinsel removed.

Flocked trees, or trees coated with a fire retardant, will be accepted.

Residents may also cut up their tree and place it in the Green/Organics waste bin for pickup on their regular refuse and recycling service day.
