Thomas Wilcox scored five goals to lead the Culver City High School’s lacrosse team to a 17-4 win on Wednesday over 19th-ranked Redondo Union.

In its Ocean League opener, the 1-2 Centaurs were to play Beverly Hills on this rainy afternoon.

Nick Brandt and Alex Mora scored three times apiece in the win over Redondo.

Brandon Owings and Sebastian Casillas each scored two, and Anthony Overton and Tyler Higgins each scored one.

Culver City, which opened the season with losses at No. 4 Harvard Westlake and at No. 6 Peninsula, finally broke through against Redondo.

The Centaurs limited the Sea Hawks to four goals, with senior goalie Cole Thompson, a second-team all-league pick last season, making 12 saves.
