Dear Culver City Friends and Colleagues of Charley Hoult,

Many of you already know that Charley passed away the day before Thanksgiving from Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and you have sent condolences and flowers for which I thank you.

I wanted you all to know that there will be a memorial service on Saturday morning at 11 at Grace Lutheran Church, 4427 Overland Ave., Culver City, in which some of you are involved.

Most of his ashes will be scattered at sea.

Next June at the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition, some will be placed in the California State University Long Beach rocket that his Experimental Sounding Rocket Association students are building.

Charley’s ashes will be scattered in the atmosphere when the parachute is deployed after the launch.

We hope you will be able to join us and help us with the countdown 5-4-3-2-1 – to liftoff…. as we did at the City Council meeting on Nov. 28 when the Council adjourned in Charley’s memory.

After the service, we will continue to celebrate Charley’s life at our house – 4363 Motor Ave., Culver City.

If you are not able to attend and you have a memory of Charley to share, please email it to me.

We will include it in a memory collection.

Perhaps his attached bio will give you some ideas.

I hope to see you there.
