The latest on the principal search for Culver City High School:

“We are in the process of screening applicants,” says School District Supt. Dave LaRose.

“We have established a variety of teams through the work of Asst. Supt. Leslie Lockhart. She is meeting with various stakeholder groups at the high school, different teams, including kids.

“We have gone through a process of screening the candidates. There will be a couple of steps in that process,” Mr. LaRose said.

“Later this week, the large team interviews will be taking place at the high school.”

The intricately tailored vetting process only will be matched against some of the more than 20 applicants. “Some” was used advisedly because, sources said, an unknown number will eliminate themselves early.

Tuesday, April 28 remains the target date for introducing the new principal.

“Some of the whittling process,” said Mr. LaRose, “is taking a look just from a paper perspective, those who have the experience, the qualities, characteristics and the readiness factors for some of the goals and expectations we have.”
