AVPA Spring Musical, ‘A Chorus Line,’ Opens Tonight

Dr. Tony SpanoA&E

Opening tonight for a five-day run – Culver City High School’s Academy of Visual and Performing Arts students raise the curtain on their Spring Musical, “A Chorus Line,” at 7 o’clock in the Robert Frost Auditorium on campus, 4401 Elenda St.

Here is the ultimate celebration of the American musical, the story of 17 dancers competing for a few coveted spots in the chorus of a Broadway musical.

Through the audition, they bare their souls while sharing stories of their childhood ambitions, fears and experiences in show business.

Groundbreaking and Pulitzer Prize-winning, the musical is for anyone who ever has put it all on the line, whether for promotion, for attention, for approval, or for love.

Meanwhile, a parental advisory has been issued: A Chorus Line “contains strong language and mature subject matter.”

Showtimes are 7 o’clock tomorrow, 1 on Sunday, and 7 o’clock next Friday and Saturday at the Frost.
