10 Things I'd Like to See

Robert EbsenOP-ED

If you could snap your fingers and have 10 wishes, what would you wish?

Here is what I would SNAP for, in NO particular order, off the top of my head:

1.   There should appear a new typewriter key: a HEART.  Almost each time I type “Love, . . .” at the end of an email, the “o” in L-o-v-e is capitalized “O.”  Does that ever happen to you, too?  I'd like to see a heart as the second letter of the word “Love.”

2.  All nuclear weapons (AOWOMD = and other weapons of mass destruction), at any stage of development, would just disappear.

3.  All fatal diseases and conditions would have cures.

4.  A simple and instantaneous process to render all fattening and otherwise non-healthy foods healthy.

5.   An inexpensive virtual reality & treadmill booth into which we would go to walk through the locations of our choice, safely, and for great exercise.

6.  People would not only smile at each other, but also regard each other's feelings.  People would treat others as they would like to be treated themselves (Where have I heard that before?)

7.  FREE airline tickets would be provided, three times each year, to each family, to visit their relatives and/or friends in distant locations. Perhaps some rich individuals would gain a tax advantage from providing the tickets.  Wait a minute — I don't have to worry about HOW these wishes get done — this is my fantasy.

8.  A pill, or something else, that would give people the immediate ability to understand each other's languages, nuances and all.

9.  A mirror we could look in from time to time that would make us look younger.  There would be a time limit to the functionality of these mirrors — lest we walk around and drive around holding them.

10.    I know you've heard this before – but if you email me at robertebsen@hotmail.com I'll tell you my 10th wish.  Maybe my 10th wish should be that people will email me.
