From City Hall to Playa Vista

Both will report directly to Senior Vice President of Development Doug Moreland.
Ms. Gomez will manage Playa Vista’s day-to-day relationships with governmental entities at the local and state levels. She also will participate in the company’s community relations and philanthropic programs.
In Councilmember Greuel’s office, Ms. Gomez handled district-wide issues, including transportation and public works planning. She also served as a liaison for Neighborhood Councils.
“Maricela’s focus on public works, education, economic development and quality of life issues will be valuable in her new position,” Mr. Moreland said.
The Fleenor appointment is significant because the director of special projects is new. “With more than four thousand residents now living at Playa Vista,” said Mr. Moreland, “we realized the immediate need for a person with Michelle’s skills.”
Before serving the administrations of Mayor Villaraigosa and former Mayor Jimmy Hahn, Ms. Fleenor was a field deputy for City Councilman Tom LaBonge.
