Bring the whole family for fun-filled, improvised performances by Middle School’s Improv Program on the first weekend in May.

In its eighth successful year, the Middle School Improv Program will hold five unique performances on the weekend of Saturday, May 6, and Sunday, May 7, at West L.A. College.

Saturday shows will be held at noon, 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Sunday performances will be at 2  and 5.

All performances will be held in the Fine Arts Theater at West L.A. College.

(Enter the college from Overland and turn right at Albert Vera (second right at the baseball field). Go up the hill to the South Parking Structure. Audience must park on Level 2 (it will feel as if  you’ve gone up three levels); walk out of the northeast corner of the parking structure. A Parking Usher will guide you to the theatre. Parking is free and accessible to all)

Tickets are only sold online at http://tinyurl.com/m32z585

Discounts are available for School District staff/students. School District fifth-graders will be admitted free with a paid adult.

The Middle School Improv Program is an amazing after-school activity offered to all interested Middle School students.

Taught by the same energetic professional improvisers for the last seven years, students work in weekly classes, monthly intensive workshops, and a pre-show weekend workshop to develop two performances per year.

The Improv Program naturally develops students’ inherent theatrical talent. But rather than focusing on creating “performers,” it develops vital life skills of acceptance, flexibility, critical thinking, commitment, persistence, kindness, teamwork, and creating serious fun.

These skills translate directly to students’ academic performance, emotional/social intelligence, and their development of themselves as capable, mindful contributors to the world around them.

Each show is one-of-a-kind, totally unrehearsed, and driven by audience suggestions.
