The Academy of Visual and Performing Arts’ Fall Dance Concert is on tonight and tomorrow evening at 7 o’clock at the Robert Frost Auditorium.

Culver City High School’s AVPA Danger Zone Dance Company presents this engaging entertainment program, and tickets only will be available at the door (avpa.org).

The Fall Dance Concert will spotlight original  artistry designed by the dance faculty and by students.

“The students’ choreography is really the highlight of the evening,” said Julie Carson, Artistic Director of Dance for the AVPA.

“Our students have arrived at a place where their technical and creative experiences have come together. Their work is unique.

“We used to stay away from fall concerts to encourage our students to concentrate on their technical proficiency,” Ms. Carson said. Now, though, “the students are ready to create and perform just a few months into the fall semester.”

The work of three Dance faculty members, Christian Espinel, Sadie Yarrington and Becca Cousineau, also will be on display.

“Their new ideas have been eagerly devoured by our students,” said Ms. Carson.

She promised the original dances will be “thrilling, thought provoking, humorous, and poignant.”
