Starting Monday, City Hall will hold two community Town Hall meetings to discuss upcoming ballot measure CW, the Clean Water, Clean Beach Parcel Tax. It will be on Culver City ballots on Nov. 8, election day.

  • The first Town Hall, 90 minutes, will start at 7 o’clock Monday evening in Council Chambers.
  • The second, also from 7 to 8:30, will be Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Syd Kronenthal Park Recreation Building, 3459 McManus Ave.

Measure CW, if approved, will result in a $99 dollar per year parcel tax for single-family residential properties, $69 annually per multi-family dwelling unit; and $1,096 annually per acre of land or portion thereof for non-residential properties.

City staff will lead the Town Halls, which are open to the public, to provide information and answer questions.

Bacteria, pesticides, toxic chemicals, and other pollutants are deposited into local water resources through the City’s aging storm drains, and a dedicated source of revenue is needed to fund improvements and projects to upgrade and construct new infrastructure.

The city’s General Fund alone cannot support such large improvements.

As a result, the City Council has placed Measure CW on the ballot. A two-thirds vote is required for passage.
