Culver City Mayor Jeff Cooper joined a fast expanding roster of civic leaders in lashing out at the white supremacists who ignited Saturday’s fatal melee in Charlottesville.

“I am profoundly sad and angry due to the events in Charlottesville this past weekend,” Mr. Cooper said.

After telling touring Israeli mayors last Friday what a storybook community Culver City is, he remarked about his good fortune.

“I am thankful I live in a city that has no tolerance for the racist behavior exhibited by white supremacists and their nationalistic movement,” Mr. Coo[er said.

“I will always speak out against racism, be it in another state, another country or within the confines of our city.”

He pledged loyalty to his fellow mayor.

“All of us stand united with Mayor (Donald) Signer of Charlottesville, “ Mr. Cooper said.

“This is a reminder that, as far as we have come to stamp out this behavior, we still have a long way to go.

“I urge all to continue the fight to end racist behavior and the violence it brings.”
