Is Abuse Unstoppable?

Dateline Dayton – Even with everything going on in our country, the world and even my own situation, I remain concerned about the abuse of children.

Many times I have said there doesn’t seem to be a day, when you don’t hear about a child being killed, tortured, raped.

What makes the situation even more horrendous is that in many cases the person inflicting the harm had been designated to provide loving care.

Yes, I still believe we should require a license to have and care for children.  It is apparent that care for children is not being taught in the home.  With licensing must come education, just like when you take you driver’s exam. You study the rules, take a test, then get into a car and show you know what you are doing.  Why isn’t a child worth the same kind of attention?

Prickliness

President Trump is getting high marks for his speech Tuesday night — however, not without criticism and jabs.

It is unbelievable that both parties can’t seem to agree on anything, even when it could be good for the people they represent.  I realize the nonsense that goes on during the speeches has taken place for years.

The one thing it does show is why nothing gets accomplished in Washington, we have a bunch of children  that we have elected to represent us.  No that’s an insult to children. They could do a better job of representing us, even if they had different views,  children would work it out.  The real problem is the adults, using the term loosely, have far too many egos to deal with, as they all think they are king, or queen of the hill.

Family Time

The coming week is going to be a busy one.  Tonight our daughter and granddaughter arrive from Michigan.  Tomorrow will be spent going over things regarding their new condo here and their move at the end of the month.

Saturday they will join Pauline for a baby shower in Columbus. and I will be attending a memorial service for a friend and visiting the fairgrounds for Flea ‘n Teak.

Sunday Pauline and I are going to Wooster to see a presentation by our granddaughter,, Ashley, who is attending Wooster College.

Next Thursday we leave for our cruise and Florida vacation.  Better start packing!
