Rain, Rain – Where Are You?

While falling asleep last night, I began thinking that the news reports have not shown the usual comparison of this year’s rainfall with the annual averages.

I looked it up.

By golly, so far El Nino is not what it climatologists predicted it would be:

Too big to fail.

Annual rainfall is measured from July 1 to June 30.

From July through this past weekend, Culver City  has received 7.1 inches of rain, slightly below the average of 7.85 for this time span.

In an average year, we would receive 14.71 inches.

Of course, there still are two  months left to our rainy season.

February’s average is 3.28 and March’s is 2.55.

So we still have a chance to finish above average.
