A Los Angles City Council vote at tomorrow morning’s meeting — without the mandated availability for the public to speak officially at the podium regarding the item – would be a violation of the Ralph M. Brown Act.

The subject is the proposed action to be taken on a once again substantially-amended agenda item that strictly obligates the City of Los Angeles to sign a blank check to host the 2024 Olympics (unlike the debt-free Mayor Bradley 1984 Olympics).

The price tag currently is impossible to ascertain.

It is to be included as part of the Los Angeles budget cost which is ballooning daily, including all the Olympic budgetary overruns from now to well past the year 2024.

As noted above, this would be a clear and very serious violation of the long-standing state Ralph M. Brown Act that obligates all legislative bodies to hear public input before voting on each agenda item.

Therefore, this would render any Los Angeles City Council Tuesday action null and void, which in turn, would obligate the overseas International Olympics Committee where an official complaint would be duly lodged, in whose lap this foul-smelling mounting mess ultimately lands, to reject L.A.’s helter-skelter 2024 bid and instead award the coveted 2024 Summer Olympics to the City of Paris, Rome or elsewhere.

The Los Angeles city government CEO and CAO publicly have raised serious doubts pertaining to the fragile, rickety structure of this ultimately hopeless Olympic Financial Grab Plan.

It includes a budget-breaker near Downtown Olympic City with a Billion Dollar cost (climbing daily) that would displace a functioning rail yard.

With a population of 17,000, roughly equivalent to El Segundo, that may well leave Los Angeles flirting with the specter of calamitous civic bankruptcy as soon as the very next decade, which is long after the incumbent Mayor Garcetti, his faithful Council Prez Herb Wesson and the rest of the wimpy Council members have been forced out of office due to Term Limitations.

This would leave The City Fathers, like Staples Center mega-honcho Mr. Phil Anschutz and Eli Broad, to carve up the billions of Olympic bucks floating around Downtown among themselves.
