The UCLA women’s basketball team will battle the University of Hawaii in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday at 3:309 at Pauley Pavilion.  The Bruins are 24-8, Hawaii 21-10.

UCLA placed fourth in Pac-12 at 14-4. Hawaii was 12-4 in conference.  Both teams have won four of their last five games, but the Bruins appear to be a better offensive team.

UCLA’s offense is led guards Jordin Canada, a sophomore, and senior Nirra Fields.  Sophomore forward Monique Billings is enjoying a good year offensively, but the key to the Bruins offense may be the play of junior guard Kari Korver.

She has been in a season-long shooting slump but if the she can recapture her shooting touch in the tournament, the Bruins may make a deep run.
