Spring may be the best time for college sports.

March Madness for men and women, baseball, softball, women’s gymnastics, men’s and women’s track and field, and men’s volleyball

For UCLA and USC, last weekend was a perfect example of exciting events.

Their basketball teams were playing in the national spotlight in the NCAA Tournament. UCLA women hosted two NCAA Tournament games and both baseball teams played home games.

USC track and field team hosted the Trojan Invitational and UCLA’s women’s softball team played three home games against Utah.

The Trojans and Bruins volleyball teams were in action at home.

This weekend may be better. The UCLA men’s and women’s basketball teams are both in the Sweet 16 round.

UCLA plays Kentucky this evening at 6:40 on Channel 2 in Memphis.  The women face Connecticut on Saturday at 11 on ESPN in Bridgeport, CN.

UCLA’s baseball team  will host California in a three-game series that opens Friday night at 6. They play Saturday at 4 and Sunday at 2.

The USC baseball teams will play three home games against Arizona State. They start this evening at 6,  Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 2.

The UCLA softball team will host BYU in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12 noon.

The Bruins continue their homestand on Sunday morning against Dartmouth  at  10.

Next week the UCLA men’s volleyball team will lock horns with USC on Wednesday at 7 at USC’s Galen Center.

The Trojans will host U.C. Santa Barbara next Friday at 7.
