Fellow Americans,

Mother’s Day honors not only the mother of the family but motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in our society

The American flag is the symbol of true Americanism. This great nation’s foundation is formed in We the People, the children of motherhood.

The U.S. Flag Code specifically states: “The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing.”

Yesterday was the 425th consecutive Sunday Rally of the Old Veterans Guard to Save Our Veterans Land and to “Bring Our Homeless Veterans Home.”

Over the past seven months, the Los Angeles VA police illegally have intervened in these Sunday Rallies.

They have issued falsified criminal arrest citations, declaring that the American flag is a “placard, pamphlet, handbill and/or a flyer,” and then illegally confiscating our flags and falsely imprisoning them as “evidence.”

As long as one American flag is illegally incarcerated within the United States, Mother’s Day cannot be fully honored in the true American tradition because the U.S. government is criminalizing this internationally recognized emblem of “liberty and justice for all.”

Our U.S. Constitution guarantees that law enforcement officers cannot jail or imprison individuals without probable cause, just because they unilaterally believe a “law” has been broken.

To be clear, no law prevents us from displaying the American flag on the front fence of a public national park. This is what the Los Angeles VA has become.

Jurisdiction comes from the National Parks Services, which takes orders from the Interior Dept.

Remember, the American flag is a “living thing.” It has as much rights and freedom as the general public – including their dogs — that enter through the open front gates of this public forum.

Shamefully and unpatriotically, the Veterans Affairs Dept. is falsely criminalizing, illegally imprisoning the American flag without jurisdiction or probable cause.

On behalf of We the People, we call on VA Secretary Robert A. McDonald, Los Angeles VA Executive Director Ann Brown, and Los Angeles VA Chief of Police Charles Leas to honor the Constitution. They should immediately release all American flags they are unlawfully imprisoning in the “evidence storage room” at the Los Angeles VA Police Headquarters.

This to respectfully demand that all American flags that have been illegally confiscated from the Old Veterans Guard. The flags are patriotically displayed in honor of the men and women who have defended our nation’s colors. We demand they be released and returned to the front gates of the National Veterans Park at.

God Bless America, Mothers, and the Veterans Revolution!
